The Forbes real-time tally of February 13, 2025, shows that Musk has dropped from his prior wealth of $421 Billion to a concerning $394.2 Billion. The schmuck is almost in the poor house. Perhaps, he should start a GoFundMe.
Then again, as far as single-day wealth accumulation is concerned, the South African Nazi isn’t doing too bad, increasing his stash by $10.9 Billion.
How does it all stack up, though?
Tesla, founded by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, has redefined the auto industry. After a hostile takeover, Musk currently holds approximately 13% of Tesla’s shares, with the company reporting a market capitalization exceeding $900 billion as of 2024.
SpaceX was founded by Musk in 2002. He invested $100 million from the sale of PayPal. Notably, SpaceX nearly failed before receiving a $1.5 billion NASA contract in 2008 - aka, the American Taxpayer.
Musk also owns some other small-fry organizations. Moreover, he has removed all doubt that he was a genius-level entrepreneur and corporate leader when he dropped the value of Twitter from a $44 Billion investment to an evaluation of $15 Billion — a drop of 80%.
However, considering that he’s using the Nazi Network, formerly known as “X”, formerly known as Twitter for political influence, the value degradation of the platform is likely of lesser consequence. His wealth accumulation, since the Trump regime regained power, has far surpassed the expenditure of buying Twitter. Convenient.
However, Musk’s dealings aren’t ironclad. Quite on the contrary. He’s cutting corners, busts unions, and he enjoyed the attention of investigators:
The Inspector General of the Department of Labor had 17 open investigations into Tesla and SpaceX.
The Department of Defense’s Inspector General was looking into SpaceX when he was fired. The investigation was potentially a result of the Wall Street Journal’s reporting on Musk’s use of illegal drugs and secret conversations with Putin, both of which would be highly problematic for a defense contractor with security clearance.
The Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Agriculture was investigating Neuralink, when he was fired; and the Inspector General of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was repeatedly “taking on” Tesla, when he was fired.
Seems that Musk had a lot to lose. Thankfully, DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, also conveniently named after a Crypto-Meme Coin Musk frequently shilled, is here to rescue the impoverished billionaire.
In a recent post, “The Recount” published the following images on Instagram.
Unfortunately, it’s too many images to share in a Substack Note, thus, here is a complete post, visualizing how he’s entangled, and how he’s “solving for wealth”.
I’ll leave you with one image to consider:
