You really should let me send you some rose colored glasses. 🙂
As for the piece itself, just so cheerful as always. 😉
Seriously, yes, we're in a bad place right now. The ridiculous part is none of what's going on is either legitimate or legal.
Honestly, if it came to it, I suspect Canada would allow, even assist, in a liberation invasion. Can't say I see that happening, but wouldn't be surprised.
The big bs bill-looked slightly hopeful for a bit, but not surprising the outcome.
Would a general strike work? I honestly don't know. It might, might not.
Maybe a citizens arrest of the regime?
Unfortunately, the American Holocaust has begun. As such, we really need an intervention to stop the regime, or what happened in Germany will pale in comparison to what happens here. (I can be dark too)
However, there's at least some positive news. We have Election Truth Alliance and SMART Elections, as well as independent reporting from Dissent in Bloom and This Will Hold, working on what happened with the rigged/manipulated election. First two have a lawsuit moving forward and showing the data that confirms a lot of statistical impossibilities/improbabilities. The latter providing other important information, including the voting systems were tampered with. While tough to say where this all goes, it still strikes me as a good direction. As we're in unprecedented territory, this information may well lead to significant action being taken against the regime. Time will tell.
The other thing worth pointing out is that if this information is being discovered by regular people, i can't help but think others with more resources and in better positions were aware of this stuff earlier, and something may still come of that if true. Maybe not(doesn't seem like it, but who knows?), but not impossible.
Anyway, if you truly want to do a more positive piece, or at least a little less bleak, do one on the ETA or SMART Elections and their work.
Maybe contact Dissent in Bloom or This Will Hold about helping them if possible.
The right is armed to the gills. There are a lot of right wing militia. There is already gang war in American ghettos. It sounds like you are saying it is going to be countrywide, or do you see this as an urban phenomenon only?
There are plenty of us on the left that are armed as well. I'll grant that it is more common with far right ideologies, but it's far from unique to them. I'll also note that even if someone owns multiple firearms, it's not really practical to use more than 1 or 2 at a time. If it comes to it, it won't be nearly as one-sided as certain groups would have you believe.
Cypher, my neighbor also told me that the left is armed too. She is a lawyer who works with women out of prison. They home school their child because they feel that the public and private schools teach too many things that are racist and sexist.
After reading Kathleen Belew's "Bring the War Home: The White Power Movement and Paramilitary America" I do not see how the left can be armed as well as the right, unless they too have been stealing hundreds of millions of dollars of weapons from the US military too.
If we get there, I’m speculating that it will start in urban centers. The pain will first be felt there: food deserts, close proximity to other people who may ideologically disagree, or have resources that are not included in the communal approach.
What irks is me is that all this sounds like a shitty Hollywood movie script. Yet, it’s the route that makes the most sense.
What you have laid out seems credible to me. I recognize that here in Germany where I am right now, and in the US, most of the people I know imagine lives of peace. That is what they are used to and their minds cannot go to picture it being otherwise yet. No one is imagining themselves being picked up by ICE of the vigilantes masquerading as ICE agents, which anyone can do. If that were to become more common it might change people's sense of security.
Unlike other wealthy nations, Americans are used to living with high crime. The US is at place 128 on the global peace index. https://www.visionofhumanity.org/maps/#/
So, it might take a while for people to even recognize that the crime and violence they are used to living with has escalated. I tied it to the neoliberal economic policies that have been normalized since Reagan.

National strike. Let’s go.
